Farm Holidays Devon
Devon is famed for having lush green pastures which are dotted with cows during the summer months. Their constant grazing produces an abundance of milk which can be turned into the product that Devon is arguably most famous for; clotted cream.
Staying on a dairy farm in Devon will allow you to see how the cows are milked and how that raw milk can be turned into all the dairy products we eat every day.
Clotted cream is a real favourite in the South West and in Devon it is treated differently from across the border in Cornwall. In Devon when having a cream tea you would be expected to spread the cream first, as you might butter a piece of bread and then the jam can be added to the top.

Having a Devon farm holidays break means staying on a farm and whatever the farm produces it provides plenty of open space, fields and garden areas that are perfect for a cream tea picnic outside. In winter many of the cottages have wood burners or open fires which provide a cosy ambience for an indulgent afternoon tea. If tea is not to your taste look out for the cottages on working vineyards!
If you can bear to leave the peace of the farm for a day try some of the fantastic things to do in Devon. The National Trust has many properties in Devon, the South West Coast Path follows both coastlines and the south of the county is great for fossil hunting.
